Workshop Skills

Educators will learn the features and functionality of Connected Tech while understanding how to use the lessons, projects, resources and assessments to address the TA TEKS standards in their classrooms.

Examples of the specific objectives covered include:

  • Activate the Connected Tech subscription.
  • Understand the features and components of Connected Tech.
  • Learn how to set up classroom groups.
  • Understand the features and components of Typing Pal.
  • Search for student activities by subject, format and technology strand.
  • Understand how to flag and/or assign online activities and resources.
  • Learn how to read and apply reports on TA TEKS.
  • Explore strategies in classroom management, planning and pacing, assessments and supporting resources.
  • Learn best practices in successfully integrating Connected Tech in the TEKS core curriculum.

Workshop Descriptions

1. Teacher Workshop

A Classroom Connect expert comes to your site to train teachers on the best strategies for effectively integrating technology into the curriculum with Connected Tech.  This option provides your teachers with direct experience using Connected Tech and serves up to 44 teachers in one day.

2. Train the Trainer Workshop I or II

A Classroom Connect expert trainer works onsite with your technology leaders in a small group atmosphere on how to effectively train and mentor your teachers to integrate technology with Connected Tech.  During both workshops, opportunities will be given to review training materials, discuss training scenarios and share implementation strategies. Train the Trainer Workshop II however will provide additional opportunities in reviewing workshop content and customizing the training materials for your local needs. This "train the trainer" workshop is a great option for ensuring continuity and consistency of training over time and serves up to 30 technology leaders in one day.

3. Getting Started Workshop

A Classroom Connect trainer meets onsite with your teachers in a targeted one-hour session that provides all of the necessary information to get started integrating technology into the curriculum with Connected Tech.  This option provides teachers with a quick training on the specifics of how to get started with the program and serves up to 110 teachers in one day.

4. Auditorium Overview

A Classroom Connect trainer speaks to your teachers in a large group setting about the benefits of using Connected Tech in their classrooms.  With this option, teachers gain a general understanding of the program and how integrate technology into the core curriculum.  Site- specific requirements determine the number of teachers served in one day.

5. Web Workshop          

A Classroom Connect trainer meets with your teachers via a live webinar meeting or a self-paced online training to learn the best strategies for effectively integrating technology into the curriculum with Connected Tech.  This option provides your educators with the flexibility of taking their training online and serves up to 44 teachers in one day or allows continued access to self-paced training online.
